Where?

At Jack Taylor Elementary in the backfield where the soccer/baseball fields are. A course map will be available so all of the grades will know where to go before, during, and after the run.

WHY?

To celebrate the new school year in style and to have fun! Great things are happening at Taylor Elementary and we want everyone to be a part of it!

How the event will work.

1. All students, teachers, parents, and participants need to wear white or light colored clothing.

2. Wear your “play clothes”. Wear clothes that you will not mind ruining and maybe never wearing again. So guys and girls leave the Jordans, KD’s, and Roshe’s at home!

3. There will 3 color stations during the run and then a final color cloud at the end.

4. The run will be a 1 – 1.5-mile jog and is not a race! It doesn’t matter who finishes first it just matters if you have fun! A course guide will be available for everyone!

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is the Color Run safe?

A: Your child’s health and safety is at the forefront of our minds and actions. The color powder is a non-toxic tempura paint powder mixed with baby powder. We do recommend wearing some sunglasses or goggles to ensure eye safetyPlease do not attempt to eat the powder!

Q: Will the color ruin clothes or running shoes?

A: The color does mostly wash out after the event. As with anything dirty, the sooner you wash it the better. We suggest wearing items that you wouldn’t mind getting colorful. If you would like to preserve the color in your running shirt, spray it with vinegar and iron it. If you wash your shirt….the color will eventually come out.

Q: Should kids bring a change of clothes?

A: PTO is providing trash bags for everyone who wants one. This is a common practice at color runs for the ride home! Just sit on the trash bag and everything should be good to go!

Q: Can I run with my dog/cat/any pet?

A: No pets are going to be allowed at this event.

Q: What happens if there’s bad weather?

A: A little bit of rain won’t stop us. Now if it’s thunder and lightning then we will have to reschedule for a later date/time TBD
